  • Who are you?
I am an enthusiastic learner, a work in progress as a cook and a mom of one extraordinary little human.
  • What are your hobbies and interests?
Well, I have many interests, but the most significant ones are learning languages, gastronomy and graphic design. About hobbies, the only thing that comes to my mind is singing, but I am trying to make boxing my new hobby.
  • Why teaching Spanish?
It definitely has to do with my experience learning English as a second language. I remember the moment I fell in love with it and the moment I realized I was able to understand different types of people, from different countries, which gave me the feeling that I could get to know another country even if I could not travel there, just by talking to the locals over internet or even watching vlogs about it. It was and still is like discovering a new world, and I want to help other people get that feeling.
  • What is the best advice you have ever received?
I have a very wise brother so, I could mention many thanks to him, but Iam gonna go with “if you do not know where you are going, walking fast or slow makes no difference, you are going to get nowhere anyways”, meaning you need to make sure you know your goals and have a clue about the things you need to do to achieve them, otherwise you could be doing a lot of stuff and even very fast but not actually getting near your goals.
  • What are the top three places to visit or meals to try in Colima?
Well, the beach is definitely number one on the list, I would say “El Paraiso” is the best option to chill, have great seafood and, of course, coconut water. Next in the list would be “Comala” which is a small village known by the rustic vibes it gives and the excellent coffee and bread they make. And of course I have to mention downtown Colima, which is the heart of the city and it gives history, food and fun all at once, when being there trying the “enchiladas dulces” is a must as well as the “tuba” and “tejuino”.

PS: A tuba [TOO-bah] (like the musical instrument, but with a short “a”) is a refreshing drink made from coconut sap, while tejuino [teh-HWEE-noh] is a traditional fermented corn beverage.
